Hi! It's been a while since we last spoke; I hope you're surfing life to the fullest.
In June, I left my full-time consultant position of six years to join Authenticx, an Indianapolis-based startup focused on discovering actionable insights from customer interactions (at a large scale).
It's been 12 years since I worked in a startup, and half of that time was spent working with large organizations that move slowly; to feed my ADHD, I always had Nomie to fulfill that deep creative need for speed and learning. But now that I'm back running at 100mph to keep up with the rest of the amazing team at Authenticx, I'm getting more than enough creative speed and have no energy left to be inventive/productive on Nomie.
This is why I've decided to put Nomie on hold until I get my bearings at Authenticx, after which I intend to return and continue to use Nomie to work out pent-up coding and design urges since I won't be doing those during the day job any longer. How much time will this take? I'm guessing a couple of months, preferably sooner.
What's this mean for Nomie 5 (current)? It will continue to run, BUT if you're a Blockstack storage user note the Stacks changes coming in Sept 2021 (it's going away, so you'll need to migrate your data to locally stored from Blockstack)
What's this mean for Nomie 6? I never got it ready for public release; if I could find a trustworthy maintainer who wants to help, I'd be happy to talk about it.
What's this mean for Patreon? August Billing is paused, we'll reassess where we are in September.
