Welcome to the new Brandons.app

The days of having a personal website are gone - replaced with Substack, Facebooks, LinkedIns, etc. I, for one, hate this trend. As a digital libertarian, I continually try to escape the trappings of corporate platforms whenever possible. For the last 6 years, Brandon's app has been running on my own "Twitter”-inspired platform built on Vue, then on SvelteKit. However, as with most things you build yourself, there's a lot of management and time required to keep it up and running.

Sadly, I've been a bad steward of keeping my own platform updated, so I have decided to switch over to

Ghost. Why ghost? Because Wordpress is a god damn shit show - and this is coming from someone who's been a Wordpress fan boy since the early days and even published a book (albeit a stupid ass book) but published never the less.

On top of Wordpress trying to become an "everything to everyone, thus a nothing to no one", I found that the simplicity of Ghost and it's focus on being an open-source Substack style, very appealing.
